Your physical therapy center in Crans (VD), Switzerland.

Excellence, innovation, and compassion in the service of your health.

Manual therapy

Musculoskeletal physiotherapy treats a wide range of conditions affecting the joints, muscles, and tendons. It addresses joint pain, such as osteoarthritis, as well as muscle pain related to muscle spasms, tendonitis, and other soft tissue injuries.

At PhysioCrans, each treatment is individualized. Depending on the problem, different techniques are used:

  • Manual techniques such as massage, mobilization, and joint manipulation to release tension and restore mobility.
  • Therapeutic devices such as ultrasound or shock waves to stimulate tissue regeneration and reduce inflammation.
  • Targeted therapeutic exercises, tailored to each patient to strengthen weak areas, correct imbalances, and improve overall function.

Postural rehabilitation

Posture is central to our physical health, but in our modern lifestyle, many people unconsciously adopt bad habits: long hours sitting at a desk, intensive use of screens, lack of physical activity. These habits often lead to chronic pain, muscle tension, and imbalances.

At PhysioCrans, we analyze your posture as a whole in order to understand the origin of these disorders. We offer:

  • Comprehensive treatment for postural disorders.
  • Rehabilitation for scoliosis and hyperkyphosis at any age.
  • An exercise program to strengthen postural muscles, improve mobility, and restore body balance.
  • The goal is to help you better understand the mechanisms of good posture and acquire lasting habits to preserve your longterm health.

Degenerative diseases

At PhysioCrans, we also offer specialized support for patients with neurological disorders or degenerative diseases, such as:

  • Strokes
  • Neurodegenerative diseases: multiple sclerosis (MS), Parkinson’s disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), etc.
  • Head or spinal cord injuries, peripheral nervous system lesions, or other progressive conditions.

Neurological rehabilitation aims to restore lost functions as much as possible, maintain

independence, and improve quality of life. Even for so-called “progressive” diseases, treatment can lead to lasting improvements: better coordination, strength, balance, and management of daily symptoms.

Our support is based on an individualized approach:

  • Functional retraining: work on walking, transfers, balance, posture, and daily activities.
  • Coordination, proprioception, and trunk stabilization exercises to compensate for neuromuscular disorders and prevent falls.
  • Cognitive and motor rehabilitation, tailored to each patient, with a view to regaining independence.
  • Use of specific assessment tools (coordination scales, motor skills tests, muscle tone measurements) to monitor progress and adapt the program.

With this approach, it is possible to improve mobility, self-confidence, and independence, even in the presence of a progressive neurological disorder.

Chronic pain

Chronic pain, such as lower back pain or neck pain, is now a real challenge for many patients.

Unlike acute pain, chronic pain is a complex condition influenced not only by tissue, but also by the nervous system, movement, stress, emotions, and past experiences.

At PhysioCrans, we take a modern, comprehensive, science-based approach that incorporates the principles of cognitive functional therapy (CFT) developed by Peter O’Sullivan.

CFT aims to understand the person as a whole and go beyond simply treating the painful area locally. The goal is not only to reduce pain, but also to understand its mechanisms, mitigate its impact on daily life, and enable the patient to regain confidence in their body and movements.

This approach is based on three fundamental pillars:Understanding pain

  • Explaining to the patient how pain and the nervous system work in order to reduce their anxiety, limiting beliefs, and fear of movement.
  • Reeducating movement
  • Restoring functional mobility through adapted and progressive exercises specific to daily activities or sports.
  • Restoring confidence
  • Supporting patients through gradual and safe exposure to movement, so that they regain a positive perception of their body and resume their activities without fear.
  • Treatment is active and collaborative: patients play an active role in their care by developing sustainable strategies to better manage their symptoms.
  • Our goal is to help each person overcome their fear of movement, improve their functionality, and regain an active, confident, and peaceful life.

    Cardiorespiratory rehabilitation

Cardiac rehabilitation is a structured, supervised program designed to restore physical fitness, psychological well-being, and quality of life after a cardiovascular event. According to the World Health Organization, it includes targeted interventions that promote a return to an active life and independence for patients in their living environment. It generally includes:

    • Guided, progressive, and adapted exercises, ranging from simple walks in the hospital to sessions on a stationary bike or treadmill, depending on the phase (hospitalization, outpatient care, then independence).
    • Health education on risk factors, nutrition, smoking cessation, and stress management.
    • Psychological counseling and support for patients in their overall recovery.

The benefits are numerous: improved cardiorespiratory capacity, reduced cardiovascular recurrence, improved quality of life, and reduced longterm mortality.

Respiratory rehabilitation (COPD, chronic respiratory disorders)

For patients suffering from chronic respiratory disorders (COPD, asthma, COVID sequelae, etc.),

PhysioCrans offers customized programs aimed at:

    •  Reducing shortness of breath and improving tolerance to daily exertion;
    •  Strengthening muscular, respiratory, and overall capacity;
    •  Improving quality of life, reducing anxiety, and preventing exacerbations or rehospitalizations.

    These programs are based on:

    • Endurance, strength, and breathing exercises (pursed-lip breathing, cardiac coherence, etc.).
    • Therapeutic education sessions covering self-care, lifestyle and dietary measures, and symptom management.
    • A multidisciplinary approach involving physical therapists, pulmonologists, nurses, psychologists, dietitians, etc.

They typically include guided, progressive, and personalized exercises, training on risk factors, stress management, and psychological support.

The benefits are numerous: improved cardiorespiratory capacity, fewer relapses, better quality of life, and reduced long-term mortality.

Patients with chronic respiratory disorders benefit from personalized programs aimed at

    Lymphatic drainage

Lymphatic drainage is a gentle technique designed to stimulate lymph circulation and promote the elimination of excess fluids and toxins.

It is particularly recommended for edema, heavy legs, circulatory disorders, as well as after certain surgical procedures or in the context of specific pathologies.

The treatment is performed manually, using slow, precise, rhythmic movements that respect the physiology of the lymphatic system.

The aim is to reduce swelling, improve comfort, and promote better tissue recovery.

    Sports physiotherapy

Sports rehabilitation is for both professional athletes and passionate amateurs. At PhysioCrans, we know how much an injury can impact performance and overall well-being. We start with a comprehensive functional assessment to identify muscle imbalances, mobility limitations, or compensations related to your sport. Then, we build a personalized program that combines: Then we build a personalized program that combines:

    • targeted muscle strengthening,
    • mobility and coordination work,
    • proprioception exercises,
    • and a gradual return to sports activities.

Thanks to her personal experience in sports, Elena has a keen understanding of the physical constraints and goals of athletes. The support aims to optimize performance while reducing the risk of recurrence.

    Dry needling

Dry needling is a modern and effective technique, often confused with acupuncture but based on different scientific principles. It involves inserting very fine needles into the muscles to target trigger points responsible for local or referred pain.

This technique is particularly effective for treating persistent muscle pain, which often causes functional limitations.

    • Relieves deep muscle tension.
    • Reduces pain.
    • Improves local circulation.
    • Promotes muscle recovery.
